Valley Storm Sewer Work Starts This Week

Contractors for Jefferson County will be repairing underground storm sewer pipes along a section of Valley Parkway between south White Oak Drive and South Valley Road. Manhole structures will also be repaired at the intersection of south White Oak Drive and Valley Parkway. The work will begin the week of April 15 and will take 15-30 days to complete, depending on weather. The work will occur Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Expect detours on south White Oak Drive and lane closures on Valley Parkway during different phases of the project. If you have questions, contact John Conn at 303-271-8496 or jconn@jeffco.us.

Interim Plan for District Manager

Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District Manager Melissa Daruna announced her resignation at the end of March. The interim plan for the position is for two current MD employees, Parks Director Pat Malloy and Controller Jeff Leniger, to share the duties of the District Manager while the Board searches for a permanent replacement. They can be reached at patm@kcranch.org or jeffl@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876.

New Signs at the Bradford-Perley House

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Historical Society, with the generous assistance of the Ken-Caryl Ranger staff, has installed two new interpretive signs at the Bradford-Perley House. One provides a timeline of the history of the House and the other describes the history and use of the Ice/Milk House, the foundation of which is located off the northwest corner of the Bradford-Perley House. Both signs are positioned a few feet inside the fence that surrounds the site and can be read from outside the fence. The Bradford-Perley House is located off Killdeer Lane in the North Ranch.

The Family Summer Pool Access Pass is for 2 adults and their children under 23 residing at the same home. For children 23 and older and living at home, they may get their own summer swim access pass by bringing in their valid driver’s license with current Ken-Caryl address. Adult children 23 and older are not counted as part of your family pass but are eligible for their own pass. If they have children (your grandchildren) who are also living with you, they may be added to your adult child’s pass.

Grandchild pass new this year: If you have grandchildren who do not live with you, but you want to purchase them a summer pass, you can do that for a discounted rate of $50 for the summer. Normally this pass would be $100. You can also just pay $5 guest fees each time you come to the pool with them or purchase a 6-pack of guest passes for the price of 5 for $25. Donate Shoes for Homeless

Students at Bradford K-8 North and South schools and the Ken-Caryl community are teaming up to help collect gently used or new shoes for homeless (adults and children) in Denver this April. The most-needed shoes for the homeless are athletic shoes with good support such as running, hiking, tennis, basketball, and canvas shoes. If shoes are used, please no holes or serious damage. Collection boxes are at the Community Center, Ranch House, and Bradford K-8 North and South campuses the month of April. There will also be a collection box at the Hogback Hustle near the Registration Desk the morning of Sunday, April 28.
