Commencement Weekend 2015
The Baccalaureate Service 2015
Saturday, May 16, 3-4 pm, Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center
The Baccalaureate Service for the senior class at Tufts began in 1865. Baccalaureate is an ancient custom wherein those being admitted to the degree of bachelor are honored with laurels of oration to inspire them as they cross this threshold into their lives beyond. This service is the last time for the senior class to be alone together as a class. One senior is selected to offer the Wendell Phillips Address, and the President offers his parting remarks to the class. The context is a multifaith celebration honoring the heritage of spirituality and values at Tufts through a diversity of religions, philosophies, and cultures in the forms of music, readings, and blessings. All are welcome. For more information, click here. Listed below are the spiritual gatherings that will be held during Commencement Weekend:

April 23-25, 2015, Harvard Divinity School, 45 Francis Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Harvard Divinity School Buddhist Ministry Initiative is excited to welcome you to join us for our first symposium on education and training for Buddhist ministry. We have envisioned this as an opportunity to bring together representatives of select institutions and programs educating students to become chaplains and caregivers, leaders in Buddhist communities and organizations, and participants and leaders in organizations and movements working to apply the insights of Buddhist practice and thought to address suffering in the world.

Over the course of three days, we will gather to share challenges, insights, and questions in panel discussions, breakout sessions, and informal meetings. This will be a “working conference” focused on starting to build conversation partners, map the landscape of Buddhist ministry, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Be sure to register here.
