- Direct flights to Greece continue into the Winter! Emirates provides direct flights from New York to Athens all year round since 2017. Now, to meet the holiday demand, Delta Airlines is extending the direct flights from New York to Athens until January 10. After a short winter break, they are available again from early March. Moreover, there are many options for convenient connecting flights. It makes your vacation in Greece available year-round. With just a quick layover in one of the major European cities, Americans can get not only to Athens, but even straight to the iconic islands such as Santorini, Crete, and Rhodes! Greece has excellent air connections with all European countries in any season. So, whether you want to explore the beauty of Greece on its own or include it as a part of the European tour this winter, don’t be intimidated by travel. - Greece a Top Holiday Choice for American Travelers in 2022. According to the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), the increasing number of direct flights from the US to Athens gave Greek tourism a significant boost this year. Moreover, arrivals to Greece from the US in the first half of the year increased by 745.9 percent to 324,000, according to the Bank of Greece.

Pax More has collaborated with the father and son team of Georgios and Emmanouel — both well-known local artists— to develop a really fun evening in their gallery that combines sculpting and traditional Greek food and wine.
Matilda and Nikos from Pax More joined me for the evening. None of us had ever tried sculpting before, but we soon learned a lot about the process and walked out with cool souvenirs of our effort.
Nikos and Matilda created clay faces that looked the most like our instructors and were much more detail oriented than mine. Can I just say that my sculpture was more creative?
