Are you feeling frazzled and sleep-deprived? Do you feel worried and exhausted? You may be experiecing work from home burnout and it is real! Between the pandemic going on and on, the wildfires, and the hot weather, trying to maintain the quality of work you're used to can seem impossible and it's too easy to sacrifice important rejuvenating "me" time –– watching TV, talking to friends on the phone, reading for pleasure, and pursuing more ambitious work projects.
We share tips and resources to help with work-from-home burnout:
Remember, laughter is the best medicine. Watch a funny movie or show, call your funniest friend or family member, read a joke book.

As we continue our focus on serving and helping others, we revisit volunteer opportunities offered through USF:
- With the election coming up, America is facing a record shortage of poll workers this year due to the pandemic. Our democracy depends on people who make sure elections run smoothly and everyone's vote is counted. If you're able, sign up to be a poll worker in your community. But, first things first, don't forget to register to vote!
- The McCarthy webpage can connect you with organizations looking for volunteers.

Sept. 1–30
Studies have long shown the mutual benefits of volunteering for both the person donating their time and the community served. Additionally, volunteering is easier than ever thanks to volunteering apps, social media, and other online resources. But in this digital age, we are actually volunteering less as our time seems to be more consumed by other priorities. This September, GoUSF invites you to “be the change you wish to see in the world” by helping others!
In this community wellness challenge, check in each time that you volunteer, indicate the number of minutes you volunteer, and share your good deed in the comments box.
