Hotter than Hades kicks off this weekend

The Leland Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Hotter than Hades Half Marathon for a flat race through the Mississippi Delta. Ten water stations will be available throughout the course. Runners that are interested in riding the bus to the starting line are required to be at Mitchell Distributing located at 1200 US 82, Leland by 5:00a.m. (buses leave at 5:15 am). The starting line is at Simmons Planting Company located at 2491 Mississippi 438, Arcola. The race will end at Mitchell Distributing, which includes an after party and awards ceremony.
All proceeds will be used to support Leland's Downtown Revitalization Project. Registration ends on June 17 at 8:00 p.m.

DHA's Summer Coding Camp

Leland high school students in DHA's Coding Camp have been learning how to create websites utilizing HTML and CSS programming languages. Coding camp participants recently completed their individual projects by creating personal websites. For example, Jakevion Wilson created a website about his favorite music artists.

Delta Careers Collaborative
|
DHA's Delta Careers Collaborative (DCC) is looking to hire individuals interested in working in childcare settings. DCC provides training, certification, and employment opportunities in the field of early childhood education in the Mississippi Delta. Participants that are enrolled in this program will be able to take advantage of enrollment and tuition assistance, career coaching, and job placement support.
