Students gathered on campus Wednesday, Dec. 7, to celebrate Las Posadas, a Latin American tradition during Advent that commemorates the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

Shaping history: Notre Dame sculptor crafts medallion

for Rev. Carrier Medals 

Miklós Simon, a ’91 MFA graduate, was selected to create the medallion for the Rev. Joseph Carrier, C.S.C., Science Medal. After building the medallion from clay, it is cast in zinc with semi-precious gold plating.

Did you know ... the Catholic Church is the largest nongovernmental property owner in the world? Notre Dame’s Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate started the Church Properties Initiative to help Church leaders consider real estate options

Surplus food saved, repurposed

Notre Dame donated more than 8 tons of food to Cultivate Food Rescue during the home football season, or about 2,300 pounds per game, helping to battle hunger and reduce food waste in the local community.

CBS Weekend News features student-athletes

Maxim Manyak, a member of the lacrosse team, was featured on CBS Weekend News for creating an app-based platform called Pediatric Pep Talk for children battling diseases.
