We are pleased to announce that the SUNY Workplace Flexibility-Telecommuting Program has been extended from an end date of June 30, 2024, until June 30, 2025, allowing employees to seek approval to continue to work remotely up to five days per pay period or up to 50 percent of their obligation if they are part time.
Next steps and notifications
- Upon approval by the supervisor, employees currently approved to telecommute may continue with their previously approved telecommuting schedule until June 30, 2025. No new application is required. Please note that telecommuting arrangements can be changed with 30 days’ notice, as outlined in the Pilot Telecommuting Program.
- Employees wishing to newly apply to telecommute or seeking a modification in the originally approved telecommuting request must complete a new application form.
- An individual’s participation in the telecommuting arrangement must be feasible and consistent with operational needs and may be modified, suspended or canceled at any time by management with 30 calendar days’ advance written notice to the employee. Employees who have an arrangement canceled or suspended may reapply six months from the date of cancellation or suspension.
- An employee may suspend or cancel their participation with 30 calendar days’ advance written notice to their immediate supervisor/manager unless the immediate supervisor/manager agrees to a shorter notice period.
