Dear Partner in Ministry,

“I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Christ says. “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25: 36, 40)

On Wednesday, April 22, GPC members have an opportunity to show care for our imprisoned siblings by participating in a special Free Minds Book Club Write Night gathering at GPC.  Join us at 6:45pm for refreshments. From 7:00 – 8:30pm we will hear from returning citizens via webinar, then read and respond to the creative messages from our siblings on the inside.

A message to someone who is incarcerated is akin to a visit. It shows that people outside are thinking of them. Giving Free Minds' members feedback and encouragement can make a member’s day.  At one of our Adult Ed classes with Free Minds Poet Ambassadors we learned that those who get mail on a regular basis receive better treatment because it means there are people keeping watch on the outside.

Join us to offer some encouragement to someone who needs it. Please RSVP to mission@gtownpres.org. You will be blessed as you give the gift of love to a stranger.
