Happy Holidays
As we embrace this season of gratitude and festive cheer, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your kindness, feedback and support in 2024. Serving you on the City Council is truly an honor, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside my dedicated fellow Council members.
The holiday season invites us to reflect on the cherished traditions passed down through generations. My family and I again participated in one of those traditions, the annual One Table Huntsville community meal in Big Spring Park. Hundreds of people attended, and it was a great opportunity for fellowship and to meet with the residents we serve.
Whether it’s the meals we share or the festive decorations we adorn our homes with, these timeless customs weave the fabric of our memories. As we look ahead to 2025, I’m filled with excitement for the opportunities and growth the year will bring. I’m confident that Huntsville's brightest days are still to come.
Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday season overflowing with joy, love and cherished moments.

Christmas Parade
The annual Christmas parade is here, and it's time for holiday revelers to fill downtown Huntsville once again. City Council members, including Council Member Little, are excited to participate in this year’s parade at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Be sure to wave as you see them! Afterward, don’t miss the Tinsel Trail, now open in Big Spring Park.

Honoring Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks Day, observed each year on Dec. 1, commemorates her courageous stand against segregation. In honor of her legacy, Huntsville Transit once again offered free rides to the community on Monday, Dec. 2. Council Member Little had the privilege of participating in the annual media event, which celebrated Parks' profound impact. Thanks to her bravery, public transportation – such as Huntsville’s Orbit buses – now provides affordable, inclusive and accessible options for all residents, ensuring everyone can travel with dignity.

Thanking City Employees
City Council members Little, Jennie Robinson and Bill Kling attended the annual employee appreciation lunch hosted by the City’s Human Resources Department. This event gave Council members the chance to personally thank hundreds of employees for their dedicated service. From Public Safety and Public Works to Landscape Management and Animal Services, these hardworking individuals go above and beyond every day, ensuring essential services are provided to citizens and contributing to the community’s well-being.
Museum Appreciation
Council Members Little and John Meredith recently toured the Huntsville Museum of Art with the Museum's Board of Directors and Executive Director Christopher Madkour. During the holiday season, the museum hosts Skating in the Park, a winter wonderland offering ice skating and festive fun for all ages.
Camera Share Program
During the holiday season, Grinches are everywhere — whether it's porch pirates or those targeting unlocked cars. Thankfully, the Huntsville Police Department offers a security camera share program that allows homeowners to register their cameras to aid in solving crimes. Residents can easily complete and submit the registration form. The crime you help solve could very well be your own. Stay vigilant and help keep your community safe.

Honoring Veterans
While we honor our veterans every November on Veterans Day, their courage and sacrifices deserve recognition year-round. Recently, the City’s GIS Department developed an online app to help us remember those who have passed. A UAH intern meticulously recorded the location of each veteran buried at historic Maple Hill Cemetery, some of which date back to the Revolutionary War.
