World Tuberculosis Day 2018
World TB Day is recognized each year on March 24. It marks the date in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced his discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacillus that causes tuberculosis (TB). This week's edition highlights local TB-related events, The Vanderbilt Tuberculosis Center and publications by Vanderbilt researchers. 

World TB Day at Metro Nashville Public Health Department

The Metro Public Health Department will observe World TB Day on Friday, March 23 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. with a fun and informative event. Through stimulating talks, interactive games, and educational materials, community partners will be informed of the role we all play in knocking out TB. Featured speakers will cover a range of topics including: the history of TB in Tennessee, current epidemiology trends for Nashville, how health equity impacts TB outcomes, and how to better serve our refugee community.
