After eight years of dedicated service to our community, our Executive Director, Nancy Melnychuk, will be retiring from her role with NESA, towards the end of the spring session in June.  

Nancy has been a steady, compassionate, and inspiring presence—guiding our organization through growth, change, and countless moments that strengthened our community. Her leadership has touched every corner of NESA, from the programs we enjoy to the welcoming culture we are so proud of today. Nancy's unfailing leadership guided NESA through COVID and this last building closure, providing the same undaunting spirit that saw programs still made available to you, our members. 

As Nancy steps into this well‑earned next chapter, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for her commitment, her vision, and her unwavering belief in the power of the NESA community. We will truly miss her presence, her humour,  her steady hand and her genuine caring for you the members, and for her staff .

Please join us in wishing Nancy joy, relaxation, and wonderful new adventures in her retirement. May this next season bring her all the fulfillment she has given to others.

Are you a low income senior? Would you like to have your income taxes completed for free?

Call 780-496-6969 to book an appointment with one of NESA’s Tax Volunteers. Appointments are available from March 9 to April 30, 2026

To help make your online registration experience as smooth and efficient as possible, we encourage you to add funds to your NESA digital wallet before registration day.

By adding a credit in advance for the amount you expect your programs to cost, you will be able to check out more quickly online. When funds are already in your account, you can simply select your courses and complete your registration without needing to enter credit or debit card information at that time.

Credits can be added in person or by phone by contacting our front office at 780-496-6969. Please note that you cannot add a credit to your account online. 

While we cannot guarantee you will get into all of the programs you are interested in, we can ensure a faster registration because having funds available in your NESA digital wallet should help streamline your checkout process and reduce the time it takes to complete your registration.

Join us April 8-10 to browse a great selection of gently loved books, with puzzles and jewellery also available. Items are restocked daily so there is always something new to discover! All proceeds support NESA’s fundraising.

Join us as we review 2025 and look forward to the future by meeting the new Board candidates and meet other members at a post-meeting social gathering. Refreshments will be provided. Please note that an active 2026 NESA Membership is required in order to attend and participate in this meeting.

Let’s Taco ’Bout It! It’s time to fiesta with friends! Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo at NESA with a lively afternoon of great food, music, and community. 

Enjoy a festive luncheon featuring a delicious taco bar catered by Caterology, followed by a vibrant live Mariachi band that will have you tapping your toes and swaying to the music. With a cash bar, door prizes, and plenty of fiesta fun, it’s the perfect way to spend the afternoon with friends.

Free and open to everyone, it’s a perfect afternoon to enjoy live music in a friendly atmosphere. The café will be open for lunch, snacks and coffee.

Get ready to dance the night away! Put on your dancing shoes and join us for Dance Night with the Edmonton Swing Band, a crowd favorite known for its lively mix of music that keeps the dance floor full all evening. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just looking to have fun, it’s sure to be a great night of music, laughter, and dancing. The cafe will be open with a limited menu.

Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our senior's recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives at NESA.
