The
Loyola University Police Department has played an important role in our response to COVID-19. Through thoughtful research and collaboration across all aspects of university operations, LUPD has helped implement the new policies and procedures in place to keep our campus safe.
In preparation for your arrival over the summer, barriers and signs were installed, cleaning procedures were enhanced, residence hall security was added, and testing and contact tracing procedures were developed. LUPD has also made some changes to how they will serve our community this semester. If you need to visit their office on campus, you’ll notice a new doorbell installed to reduce capacity and limit unnecessary contact. Officers will also have access to personal protective equipment (PPE), such as masks, face shields, gloves, and more, to use as needed while they are working.
If a student tests positive or receives the notification of exposure to coronavirus after hours or on weekends when Student Health is closed, LUPD will be on call to help connect the student to necessary resources. Call LUPD at 504.865.3434, available 4:45 p.m. – 8 p.m. during the week and 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. on weekends.
