RESTORE OUR ROADS #2: After two and a half years of expedited construction, the main line overpasses on South Memorial Parkway are now open to motorists. The project was made possible through Restore Our Roads, a $250 million cost-sharing package for eight major state road projects in Huntsville with the Alabama Department of Transportation. >more

CELEBRITY AUTHOR VISIT
Huntsville welcomed bestselling author Tayari Jones for a community fundraiser to support the new North Huntsville Library. Jones' mother, Dr. Barbara A.P. Jones, is a retired Professor of Economics at Alabama A&M and now sits on the library capital campaign committee. Tayari Jones spoke at a luncheon to celebrate her monumental bestseller and Oprah Book Club selection, An American Marriage.
