October Volunteering
Let's get spooky with it!
Hello Volunteers!

The air is getting brisk and the leaves are changing, October is finally here! We're excited because we have some new opportunities with Somerville schools and with Food Link.

As always, to sign up for a volunteer shift this month and receive a month of free Garbage to Garden service, RSVP by email, and we will help answer any questions you may have. Remember, events are first come, first serve.

Happy Composting!
The Garbage to Garden Team

Do you want to get involved in your local schools?
We're looking for volunteers to help to divert food scraps from the landfill by educating students and making sure the scraps get to the right container. Volunteers get their own GtG t-shirt, and free month of service!
To volunteer at these schools, simply select which school you would prefer and let us know which days you're available. We'll get you the information you need and take it from there!

Dated Food Sorting
Friday, October 12th, 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Help sort non-perishables for distribution and depackaging! Food link receives a lot of canned and dried goods. Some that are great to give out to recipient agencies, and some that need to be composted. This is a task that is suitable for folks from ages 8-108, it doesn't require lifting, though it does require reading labels. Snacks are provided!

Food Link is looking for volunteers to help on a regular basis with the collection and distribution of donated food. Volunteers generally work in groups to collect food from grocery stores and bakeries, sort the food and then deliver it to social services agencies in the area.
Volunteer with us @ the Farmers' Market!
