Your Gifts Make our Youth Ministry Possible
Tonight our youth will provide our last Wednesday evening meal of 2025, and we invite you to join us and give to support our continued youth ministry opportunities. The youth will offer a dinner of taco soup, grilled cheese, and dessert at 5:45. We will leave how much to give up to you! Joe will be at the table tonight to take donations, or you can give anytime online here or via our Vanco mobile app (look for the section entitled "Youth Ministry"). Hope to see you there!

Sunday we kicked off our “We Give Thanks for Parkway Hills” campaign. Our Lay Leader, Maggie King, shared why she gives thanks for Parkway Hills as well as a reminder that it is our gifts that allow us to be mission and ministry in our community. Take a look at some of what she shared below.
There are so many reasons that I do give thanks for Parkway Hills. It’s a place where faith feels safe. It’s a community that surrounds people with love, encouragement, and prayer. I give thanks for the meals shared amongst friends that feel like family, for those Wednesday nights that while on the surface may just be a respite from dinner planning but at its core, as Barbara Colorosa states, are embodiments of one of the oldest and most profoundly unifying human experiences. I give thanks for the laughter and for the energy of our children, for our students who are growing in their faith and finding their purpose, and for the adults who pour into others through small groups, worship, and service. I give thanks for the way this church reaches beyond its walls showing God’s love in real tangible ways. I’m thankful to be a part of a church that seeks to mend the broken as well as defend the broken.
Our gifts, your gifts, make all of that possible. Every dollar, every prayer, every act of generosity helps Parkway Hills continue to be that light and that beacon of love in our community. So thank you for your faithful giving. If it has been a while since your last gift, I invite you to pray about how your giving today could help us finish 2025 strong and step into 2026 ready for all that God has planned. For the missions we’ll take on, the lives we’ll touch, and the people who will come to know His love through Parkway Hills, may we continue to be the hands and feet of Christ and give thanks for all that God is doing and will continue to do through this amazing church family.

Join your church family in preparing our hearts for Christmas this Advent by participating in a 3 week study using Walter Brueggemann's book, Names for the Messiah. In Isaiah 9:6, a divine utterance is given to us using four royal titles - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. We will reflect on each title and how the people understood it then, how Jesus did or did not fulfill the title, and how Christians interpret Jesus as representative of that title. We will meet in the Open Doors room, Room 201 upstairs Ed Building, Thursday, December 4, 11, and 18 at 10:00 am.

Shelby Wilson, a member of our church janitorial staff, sent us the following note regarding the birth of his and Anna's son Phoenix, born November 8:
I just wanted to thank and recognize Parkway Hills United Methodist Church and its congregation that helped ensure Phoenix has what he needs. Anna and I have met a lot of you, but there are so many of you that we’ve never even had the pleasure of meeting. Yet, so many of you bought or donated towards us having the things we needed from Phoenix’s baby registry, purely from a place of love, kindness, and Christ’s consciousness living through you all. It’s a blessing that I don’t take lightly. Thank you all for the prayers for a safe, healthy delivery and for your kind words. So proud to say that our Phoenix has risen. Our Phoenix is healthy. Our Phoenix is perfect. From my heart to all of yours, I love, appreciate, and wish peace upon you all.

| Sunday Mornings join our PHUMC kids for Big Faith. Big Faith takes children through Bible stories using hands-on activities, child-friendly themes, and includes at-home connections. Children 4th grade and under meet in the Garden Room at 9:30 am each Sunday before dividing into age-appropriate rooms for a deeper dive into the lesson.
Be sure to pick up your faith-home connection sheet in the foyer of the Worship Center, by the kids' activity bags. This enables the kids to share what they're learning in Sunday School with the whole family.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids' ministry. For more information about any of our kids' ministry events contact Jennifer.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.
