The Radford University Student Government Association’s Bags to Benches program collects and recycles plastic grocery bags, transforming them into park benches if they collect 1,000 pounds in a 12-month span. Bag collection bins are located throughout campus, with the main drop-off point on the first floor of McConnell Library. Two of the benches created through this initiative are currently located outside the Hurlburt Student Center, near the bus stop at lot JJ. If you have plastic bags you’d like to donate, drop them in the collection bins around campus or reach out to sga@radford.edu to donate larger amounts.
