Lilly Conference Proposal Drop-in

Paper proposals for the Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching (November 19-21, 2026) are due June 15. Gregg Wentzell, Conference Director, will be available via Zoom to discuss preparing your proposal. Drop in at any time during the 10-11:30 am time slot to ask questions or receive feedback on your draft proposal.
Note: Proposal submission is temporarily unavailable as an upgrade to the Wordpress site is completed. We will send an announcement via the CTE and Lilly listservs when it is functional again. Thank you for your patience with this process.

Summer Book Discussion Registration Is Open! |
The CTE is hosting 3 book discussions this summer! We supply the books and facilitate the discussions (via Zoom). Join your colleagues and engage in dialogue around teaching and learning topics. Each book club is limited to 12 participants. Please note: Book discussion registration and participation are limited to 1 book per person.

New Journal Issue Features Miami Authors |
The brand new issue of the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching (Vol. 37.2, 2026) includes studies on student metacognition, belonging, and identity transformation, and it features an article on “Empowering Gen Z” by Miami’s Kerri Cissna, Rebecca Crews, Joshua Ferris, Robert Gray, and Ella Roberts. Brenda will discuss what she has seen and learned from recent cases involving unauthorized AI usage. We will discuss the "Trojan Horse" method of detection, how and why students are using AI, and what you are seeing in your classes and ways to address the issues.
