World Oral Health Day Celebration

CATCH was thrilled to participate in this year’s World Oral Health Day celebration on March 20th with our generous partners at Delta Dental, educating and reaching individuals across the globe about the importance of oral health!

Through Delta Dental’s support, CATCH is able to offer our school partners free access to CATCH Healthy Smiles, a K-2 oral health education program.

As tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children, we are grateful for our community and school partners who share our enthusiasm for ensuring that kids have access to much-needed oral health education programs. CATCH Healthy Smiles contains a variety of resources such as teacher training, educational activities and videos, and parent engagement tools.

Attention schools! As an extension of CATCH Health Ed Journeys, our comprehensive K-8 health education curriculum that covers national and state standards, we have created a free resource for you to share with families.

“Are You an MVP?”, a gameshow available in English and Spanish, helps families learn about health, complete fun challenges together, and earn entries into drawings for exciting rewards including a chance to win a $500 cash prize. Participating schools also have a chance to win a school-wide license to CATCH’s trio of Journeys programs (Health, PE and SEL) for one school year — a prize worth more than $2,000 in total value!

Contest closes on May 15th and winners will be notified by June 1st.

Margot Toppen, VP of Programs

Margot Toppen leads program development for CATCH Global Foundation’s portfolio of evidence-based and evidence-informed programs, and serves as an ambassador for CATCH through her work at the forefront of international conversations around social and emotional learning (SEL). SEL Day was celebrated on March 10th and as the creator of our CATCH SEL Journeys program for K-12 students, it is only fitting to share a video spotlight on Margot’s passion for movement, cultural learning, and inclusivity!

To connect with passionate educators like Margot, we invite you to sign-up for our free Educators’ Club that provides a dance every month for you to try with your students along with the opportunity for peer engagement and access to many other free resources.

Houston Collaborative

Thanks to the generous support of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, we gathered 23 health and physical education district administrators from Harris County, Texas on two different occasions, giving administrators the opportunity to share ideas, collaborate, and support one another in their efforts to bring health education to their students!
