Featured Photo | A Smoky Morning View |
RVR Board President Mike Banbury captured this striking image on the morning of August 9th from 1,640 feet above Carbondale. The photo reveals the thick upper layer of smoke with Mt. Sopris just visible in the distance, peeking through the haze. We’re grateful that air quality has since improved, allowing us to enjoy clearer skies once again!
We would love to feature your photo in an upcoming mailing. If you're interested in having your photo highlighted in the weekly news, please submit images to: jessica.hennessy@rvrma.org.

Speed Limit in RVR: 20 MPH
Now that class is back in session, we want to remind all residents to be extra mindful while driving through the neighborhood. Children will now be walking, biking, and bussing to and from school, increasing activity on our streets.
Please slow down and drive with caution to help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of our entire community. The speed limit in RVR is 20 mph and it's crucial that we all follow it at all times.
Thank you to those who consistently observe the speed limit and help make RVR a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Community Irrigation Adjustments
to Support Water Conservation |
Due to diminished Crystal River water levels, the HOA is further reducing watering across community common areas. While there is currently sufficient flow to bring water into our headgates on the Crystal River, our ponds— which supply the irrigation pumps—may experience lower levels in the coming weeks. We ask all homeowners to review irrigation schedules and reduce usage where possible to help conserve water and support the system.

RVR4Good Reaches $10K Goal for La Clinica
We wanted to take a moment to highlight the incredible work being done by RVR4Good and the generosity of our community. Neighbors came together to raise the final funds needed to meet a $10,000 goal, allowing La Clinica to move forward with hiring a full-time behavioral medicine therapist. This new role will support vital mental health services for uninsured and underserved individuals in our valley. A big thank you to all who contributed, what a wonderful reflection of the RVR spirit!

Firewise Home Design: A Smarter, Safer Approach |
As wildfire risk continues to grow across Colorado, RVRMA is committed to supporting homeowners in designing and building more fire-resistant homes. Whether you’re planning a renovation or building from the ground up, our Design Review Committee welcomes and encourages fire-defensive design.
We recently launched a new Firewise Home Design page on our website, where you’ll find expert guidance on everything from fire-resistant building materials to smart landscaping strategies.

Safety Spotlight | Protect your Deck |
Decks are a beloved part of Colorado living, offering great spaces to enjoy the views and fresh air. But in wildfire-prone areas, deck safety is more than just choosing the right material.
Keep decks safer by:
- Using ignition-resistant materials when possible.
- Keeping bushes or trees away from the deck.
- Ensuring the connection between deck and home has proper metal flashing to block embers.
Smart design, careful storage, and mindful landscaping all help reduce wildfire risk while keeping your outdoor spaces enjoyable
Important Reminder!
Garfield County is now under stage 2 fire restrictions. This applies to all of Garfield County. RVRMA covenants, section 3.11, also prohibits exterior fires within the Common Interest Community (exterior gas units are allowable).
