Take Action Today! Shut Down Animal Exhibiting at Dakota County Fur Farm
For years, Fur-Ever Wild in Eureka Township, Minnesota has operated as a petting zoo and fur farm, with the owners breeding animals, exhibiting them for a fee, and then slaughtering them for their fur (according to previous statements by the business).

A court ruling last year found that Fur-Ever Wild's petting zoo operation violated local ordinances, and the animal exhibition part of the business was shut down. So we were surprised to learn that Fur-Ever Wild is now advertising "volunteer" positions, which require a fee, to hold and feed animals. It seems the new "volunteer" program is an attempt to sidestep the law and continue profiting by selling contact with the animals in addition to their fur

Minnesota residents, we need your help to urge the Dakota County Sheriff, Dakota County Attorney, and Eureka Township Board to uphold the law and shut down this activity. Click below and fill out the Animal Legal Defense Fund form to tell officials to shut it down!

Outreach at Farmer's Markets and Open Streets
ARC has a very full schedule of outreach this summer and early fall at local farmer's markets and Open Streets events. At these events we give out information about plant-based eating and sample food items such as Primal Strips vegan jerky.

Email Katie, our Volunteer Coordinator, if you're interested in volunteering. We have 6 weekend days at the Midtown Farmer's Market, 4 days at the Kingfield Market, 4 days at the Nokomis Market, and tables at Open Streets Lyndale, NE, and West Broadway, so there's a date for everyone!. It's a great way to get the message out to a receptive crowd about how switching to a plant-based diet is good for the animals, the earth, and one's health.
Protest the Pet Trade: Stand Up for Animals Sold by Petland
Join the protest against the Petland Corporation at the Sun Ray Shopping Center in St. Paul on Sunday, June 4 from 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m. to oppose their business model of buying companion animals from intensive breeding facilities and selling them to the public. We will provide signs and protest leads will answer questions from the public. RSVP at the Facebook event.
Chicken Run Rescue Work Day
ARC organized a work day at Chicken Run Rescue to give volunteers a chance to meet the birds and pitch in to help with spring chores at CRR. There was great vegan food too -- enjoyed by humans and chickens alike. Sharing time in the dirt with the birds on such a picture perfect day was exactly how Earth Day should be celebrated. Thank you AmyLeo, Barb, Carol, Ellen, Katie, LaTrice, Misty, and Tina for all your hard work!
