Note from the Chair
Greetings from EEES. We have some terrific stories to share in this issue, including a significant publication in Science Advances by one of our newest faculty members, Dr. Alex Pullen. You can also read about the activities of Clemson’s Industrial Assessment Center, directed by EEES faculty member Dr. Michael Carbajales-Dale. The IAC, funded by a grant from the Department of Energy (DOE), provides energy audits for companies throughout the southeast. You will also find a story about the DOE/EPSCoR project led by Dr. Brian Powell. The DOE Office of Science recently featured this project, because of the novel use of medical imaging technology to better understand the movement of radionuclides in the environment.
Three Departmental programs received favorable reviews for ABET accreditation: The BS degree in Biosystems Engineering, the BS degree in Environmental Engineering, and the MS degree in Health Physics.
Finally I’d like to thank the many EEES alumi who have a continuing relationship with the department. Many of you are hiring our graduates! You are always welcome back, and you are always encouraged to be involved.
