197 students in special programs and 103 in preschool returned to schools for face-to-face instruction this week. Administrators and teachers were as excited as their students to be reunited again! All students were asked to take the self-screener checklist before coming to school each day. Students who could wear masks throughout the day except when eating inside their classrooms did so, (pre-schoolers and those who are medically deemed unable are exempt), and all practiced social distancing to ensure the safety of others around them. 

For students who chose face to face instruction:

A Spanish and Chinese Middle School Immersion Program will be held at Gunning Bedford Middle School in the 2021-2022 school year. All interested families from the Elementary Immersion Program were invited to complete the school choice process.  Questions related to the choice process can be addressed by Ahtiya Johnson, the Choice Administrative Specialist at (ahtiya.johnson@colonial.k12.de.us).

William Penn and Wallin parents and students should be on the lookout for a message from their building principals in the next couple of days about what the return to school looks like for high school students. 

There will be NO meal distribution on Friday, January 15, or Monday, January 18.
Daily hot meal distribution will resume on Tuesday, January 19th.
