Dear SSEM Colleagues,
In May, we asked you to complete the confidential 2021 Workplace Community Survey. Thank you for your participation. We value your input and continue to strive to build a better understanding of staff climate, develop a sense of belonging, and foster our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within our campus culture. It is so important to ensure that we all have a workplace environment that supports our professional and personal identities.
As a division, and as department leaders, we are committed to action, and the survey results provide us with a greater understanding of how we can all create a cohesive, respectful community that works together in service of the university’s mission. We set out to be transparent with our employees and are sharing those survey results with you. The 2021 Workplace Community Survey helps to inform our decision-making and encourage continued dialogue as we strive to create positive change in the quality of our work environment.
Overall, 427 responses were received, yielding a record participation rate of 36%, including 58% among non‐student employees (50% of classified, 71% of officers of administration), and 15% among student employees. This reflects record participation in 9 of 11 departments, in every employee category, and overall. Please take a moment to review the survey results, and as always, we appreciate any additional feedback you would like to provide.
