Thanks for donating in 2015!
Thank you to everyone who gave as part of our #GivingTuesday campaign or as part of your end-of-year giving plan. Through your support, we raised $17,295 in December!
January Happenings
Here's what we're up to this month.
  • Pronunciation Workshop: Program Manager Steven Reid will be leading a workshop on pronunciation issues for Chinese, Korean, and Japanese speakers on Tuesday, January 19 at noon.

  • New Tutor Training: We have 41 students waiting for tutors--and that number keeps growing! Please help us recruit tutors for our Saturday, January 23 New Tutor Training. Training starts at 9:30am, ends at 4:00pm, and we provide lunch. Interested parties can call the office to register: 434-977-3838.

  • Naturalization Process Workshop: In this citizenship workshop on January 27 at 6:00pm, Debbie Tuler, Immigration Outreach Specialist,  will explain the naturalization process, including benefits, eligibility requirements, and steps, as well as the immigration services offered by the International Refugee Committee.  Learn more about the work the IRC is doing right here in Charlottesville to help immigrants create new lives and become part of our community.
For more information about any of these events, email Amie.
Begin the new year with fresh recipes!
We still have copies of our student and tutor recipe book, Recipes from Our Homes, available for purchase. Copies are $10 and feature recipes from around the world. Get your copy today and spice up your cooking routine (pun intended).
