The School of Economics has named Professor Jason Lindo the next Mary S. and Richard B. Inman Jr. Professor of Economics. Established in 2013, the Inman Professorship is awarded to outstanding scholars in the School of Economics to support their ongoing and future research, academic leadership, and professional development.

Submit Abstracts by Sept. 30 for the 10th Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium |
The 10th Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium will be held Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience Building, Suddath Room. We are soliciting abstracts for research talks (10 minutes) and lightning talks (5 minutes).
Please submit abstracts using this form by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30. Abstracts will be assessed with the rubric available here. You will be notified whether your abstract has been accepted for a 10-minute research talk or a 5-minute lightning talk by Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Georgia Tech postdocs are eligible to submit one abstract each. Postdocs who have a primary appointment at another organization and a secondary affiliation with Georgia Tech may present if there is space available, but they will not be eligible for travel awards.

Mayra Pineda-Torres (Economics) participated in the August 2024 Diversity Initiative for Tenure in Economics Workshop, organized by the Samuel Dubois Cook Center of Social Equity at Duke University. She spoke about her research agenda and presented her paper on access to abortion and intimate partner violence.

Nationally known speakers will illustrate the impact of the areas represented in our College in TED-style presentations, followed by IAC unit leaders, who will relate how their areas boost belonging, learning, and research our campus. The event will offer a panoramic view of the massive influence of the liberal arts at Georgia Tech and beyond.
