Teaching First, Technology Second: Designing a Pedagogically Sound Tutorbot |
Wednesday, April 8, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, 320 Laws Hall

Design a course- or topic-specific Tutorbot (a Gemini Gem) that supports learning without turning into an answer engine. We’ll translate tutoring research into practical routines (e.g., one-question-at-a-time Socratic loop). You’ll build and test your Tutorbot with common student scenarios and leave with a deployment plan including the Tutorbot prompt and routines. Lunch will be provided, and laptops are required.

Submit a Proposal for the 45th Original Lilly Conference! |
Proposal submissions to present your teaching scholarship are now being accepted for the 45th Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching, November 19-21 in the Armstrong Student Center on the Oxford campus! Be part of a community of teacher-scholars who, like you, share a passion for improving college teaching and student learning through evidence-based practices. You may choose from 3 formats for your session: a 3-hour preconference workshop, a 45-minute individual session, and a poster session. The proposal submission deadline is Monday, June 15, 2026.

Call for Facilitators: Summer Book Discussions |
Are you interested in facilitating a summer book discussion of either a preapproved CTE book or a book that you propose? Books should be focused on teaching and learning in a higher education classroom. Book discussions are held virtually for 90 minutes in June or July 2026. The CTE will purchase books for the facilitator and attendees (max 12). Only full-time continuing faculty members are eligible to apply.
