Our Wednesday night gatherings resume tonight, and we hope to see you there. First, our congregational care team will meet at 5:00 pm (note the time change due to our meal). If you haven't been able to be a part of this team to pray for our congregation and send notes of encouragement, come check it out. Can't come every month? Then just come when you can! Can't make it at 5, then join us at 5:45 for a spaghetti meal followed by a time of conversation and sharing at table with PHUMC's youngest, oldest, and everyone in between.
For next Wednesday night's reservation (September 11), click here. The menu is a pork loin, and we do ask that you RSVP by noon Monday, September 9 so we can be good stewards of our resources and know how much to prepare. You can RSVP by clicking the link, calling the church office, or using the space provided in the bulletin each Sunday.

This Sunday, September 8, we have the chance to learn more about the impact of our September communion offering. Founder/Director Fred Curry, Director of Children’s Ministries Gabriela Arias, Chief Administrator and chef, Ros Rivera Arias, and worship leader, Johnny Mendoza will join us in worship and share about the mission and ministry of Rice and Beans. Rice and Beans Ministry is dedicated to bringing hope and joy to children living in poverty in Costa Rica, Brazil, and the United States by feeding families, providing safe housing through construction projects, and aiding in education by providing uniforms and school supplies. We have collected $289.00 to date, but you can give to support this ministry all month online, via our vanco mobile app, or in the offering basket throughout September. We hope to see you Sunday as we all learn more about this great work. Visit rabmin.org for more info.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner
Saturday, September 14 you are invited to join some of your Parkway Hills friends for dinner, but you won’t know who until you show up! How does it work? Register by Wednesday, September 11. Look for an email assigning you to a home. The host home will also reach out to you to let you know what to bring (side, dessert, salad, bread). Show up at 5:00 pm and enjoy a night out of food and fellowship!
We need host homes to make this night happen! What does it mean to host? As host, you let us know how many people you can seat at your table so we can assign people. You prepare the main course and provide the drinks. We will get you the list of those attending your home so that you can contact them and let them know what to bring (side, dessert, salad, bread). Be ready to greet and get to know your guests at 5:00 pm Saturday, September 14.
To register and to signup to host click here.

Dean of the Chapel at Millsaps College, Rev. Dr. Ricky James will be our speaker and lead us through a time of thinking through the message in the book of Revelation. Lunch will be provided, and we ask that you register by Wednesday, September 11 so that we can adequately prepare. A $5 donation is requested to aid with covering the cost. We hope to see you there and hope you will reach out and invite a friend to join us! Register here.

It is almost book club time again! As our Wednesday nights are beginning, it's time to pick up the book we will use toward the end of our Wednesday night gatherings for our book club. Following a recommendation, we have chosen to read The Spirit of Justice: True Stories of Faith, Race, and Resistance, by Jemar Tisby. We will meet Wednesday, October 23 following our 5:45 meal to discuss and the author will join us via zoom! You don't want to miss.
