| Bond Project Construction Update
Work on the addition at Dakota Lodge is progressing quickly! Concrete was poured for part of the foundation. There is also major progress inside Dakota Lodge such as framing of the bathrooms and plumbing work. At the Community Center, the racquetball courts will be raised to have one contiguous level of fitness facilities. The five-foot difference will be filled using Geofoam, a lightweight material that looks like oversized Styrofoam blocks. Part of the foundation was poured for the front porch enclosure at the Ranch House. The porch is being enclosed to allow a public walkway to connect both sides of the building. If you have any questions, please email bondprojects@kcranch.org.

| Water & Sanitation District Rate Increases for 2016Because of increases in costs of providing water and sanitary sewer service, Ken-Caryl Ranch rates for water and sanitary sewer service will increase effective Jan. 1, 2016. The Water District will increase its water rate by 2 percent to help offset Denver Water’s expected rate increase in 2016. The 2016 minimum residential bi-monthly water charge will be $52.86 for the first 10,000 gallons; that’s an increase of $1.04 on your minimum bi-monthly water bill. The Water District has a contract with the City of Littleton to treat the sanitary sewage from the District. The City of Littleton will increase sanitary sewer treatment costs by 2 percent in 2016, and the Water District will pass the increase to its customers. Residential customers will see their bi-monthly sewer bill increase by $1.10. Bills received on and after Jan. 1, 2016, will reflect the new rates.

Christmas Tree Chipping Moved to Brannon Gearhart ParkThe Parks Department is accepting Christmas trees for chipping again this year, but trees need to be dropped off at Brannon Gearhart Park instead of the Equestrian Center due to construction at Dakota Lodge. Brannon Gearhart Park is located just east of Valley Parkway between Mahonia and Buckthorn (see Google Map). Simply drop off your tree in the designated area (there is a sign) anytime between now and Jan. 17. Please be sure to remove any non-coniferous items such as metallic materials and tinsel before bringing your trees, as many materials can damage the chipping equipment. The mulch will be applied at the base of trees and shrubs in parks and greenbelts.

| Christmas Pony Rides at the Ken-Caryl Equestrian CenterSign up for a Christmas pony ride at the Ken-Caryl Equestrian Center! The rides are for ages 3 to 100 (you’re never too old for a pony ride), and the cost is $20 payable with cash or check at the time of the ride. This special event only has two days left: Tuesday, Dec. 22 and Wednesday, Dec. 23 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Reservations are required. To make a reservation, call the Equestrian Center at 303-972-8456 or 303-979-4500 or email eqschool@kcranch.org. The 15-minute pony ride will be conducted by one of our experienced camp or riding school instructors, but we do ask an adult to walk alongside young children to help them keep their balance. Children and parents must wear boots or lace-up shoes. No slip-ons, flip flops or open-toed shoes allowed. You are encouraged to bring your own toddler-sized bike helmet for kids under 5.
