Beyond the game: Pokagon stories at Foundry Field
|
A new mural at South Bend’s Foundry Field celebrates generations of Pokagon Band of Potawatomi athletes and the community’s living culture. Created by Pokagon artist David Martin through a collaboration led by Notre Dame’s Institute for Social Concerns, the project brings together public art, tribal voices, and student research. Students also learned from Pokagon leaders and scholars to create educational postcards that carry these stories beyond the ballpark. Explore the story and mural.
