Dear Student Services and Enrollment Management Team Members,
Good afternoon. I am incredibly excited to announce our first official Student Welcome Center Presentation Team members. I am so thrilled to welcome this team in their new role and grateful to Cora Bennett and Micah Howe for their leadership in managing, scheduling, and onboarding this process. The team will be charged with showcasing the University of Oregon to new and potential students as well as their family members through all of our presentations in the new, state-of-the-art theater in Unthank Hall.
Welcoming new students and their families is a top priority in our overall SSEM recruitment strategy. For many visitors, their first impression of the university will take place in the Student Welcome Center in newly constructed Unthank Hall. As we introduce this new team of presenters, I am thrilled with the representation on the Presentation Team from across the entire SSEM division. With the announcement of our first Presentation Team, students and families will have the opportunity to meet team members from across our division and around campus. The Presentation Team members applied for this opportunity, interviewed, and presented a welcome session to the selection committee. The selection committee and I were impressed by the team members enthusiasm, initiative, desire to contribute to the recruitment effort, and terrific public-speaking skills. I have complete and full confidence in the ability of the Presentation Team to create a warm and enthusiastic welcome to the University of Oregon.
The team will formally begin their work October 1, with practice and training sessions prior to the official start date. Please help me congratulate our inaugural Student Welcome Center Presentation team for the brand-new Student Welcome Center.
