RUNOFF ELECTIONS IN GEORGIA TUESDAY, JUNE 18;
EARLY, IN-PERSON VOTING HAS BEGUN, ENDS FRIDAY
Runoff elections to determine party nominations for legislative races and to elect non-partisan school board members will be next Tuesday, June 18.  Polls are open Election Day from 7 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Early, in-person advanced voting ends on Friday, June 14.

GAE is not recommending voting absentee by mail in this election unless absolutely necessary.  North Georgia, including the Atlanta metro area, is experiencing unprecedented delays in the processing and delivery of mail.  There was a recent hearing in the U.S. Senate in which it was revealed that in April only 36% of mail was delivered on time in the region.

GWINNETT COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD

GWINNETT COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 1

Rachel Stone.  Rachel is a former Gwinnett County educator who taught both English and math to special needs students in the Gwinnett schools.  She also earned a law degree at Emory University.

If you would like to meet her in person, she will be at a Juneteenth event Saturday, June 15, from 1 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville.

District 1 runs from south of Snellville to Grayson to Dacula then to Auburn, mostly along Gwinnett County's eastern border.

Shana White
GWINNETT COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 3

Shana White.  GCAE has also endorsed Shana White for the Gwinnett School Board in District 3.  She, too, is a former educator.  She taught physical education, health, and computer science in Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Shana holds three Georgia state certifications: S-6 in Instructional Technology, T-6 in P-12 Computer Science, and T-6 in P-12 Health and Physical Education.

District 3 includes all or part of the Collins Hill, Duluth, Lanier, Norcross, North Gwinnett, and Peachtree Ridge clusters.

Twenty of 23 Democrats in the state Senate have endorsed Kenya.
