Japanese Exchange Teaching (JET) Program Info Session on Oct. 6 at 11:50 a.m., UHall 3240
JET is a competitive program that allows recent grads to live and work in Japan for a minimum of 12 months. Most serve as Assistant Language Teachers and work in K-12 schools. Japanese language proficiency is not required. See attached flyer.

Patti Grace Smith Fellowship- Deadline: October 23! The program provides extraordinary Black students with their first work experience in the aerospace industry, personalized mentorship, and a cohort of similarly driven and talented young Black people pursuing aerospace careers. We know you’re just getting started — so we’ve designed an application process that doesn’t assume you’ll have a giant resume and a loaded school transcript already. Open to Black or African-American freshmen or sophomores interested in their seeking their first job/internship in the aerospace industry. Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.

LeadNext: Ambassadors for a Global Future- Deadline: October 31. LeadNext Fellows are dynamic emerging leaders from any sector with a commitment to creative approaches to addressing issues such as climate change, inequality, injustice, poverty, or other pressing issues. Fellows demonstrate outstanding character, integrity, and are respected leaders within their communities with an interest in cross-cultural exchange. To be eligible for the program candidates must be:
- Aged between 18-25 during the entire program year.
- Able to commit to attending all sessions with an understanding that we are working across many time zones. Virtual sessions will take place in the mornings in Asia and evenings in the U.S. for approximately 2 hours per session.
- Open to permanent residents, DACA recipients, US citizens, and international students from Asia

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals- Deadline: November 1. CBYX is a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Congress, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each others' countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. Open to U.S. citizens between 18-24 y/o.

Chevening Scholarships- Deadline: November 1. Chevening is the UK Government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Open to international students (U.S. citizens are not eligible) interested in pursuing graduate study in the UK.

The Yenching Academy of Peking University- Deadline: November 27. Yenching Academy aims to build bridges between China and the rest of the world through a fully-funded, interdisciplinary master's program in China Studies (taught in English). The Yenching Academy provides fellowships to its scholars,(including room & board, tuition, and travel costs) and offers a wide array of interdisciplinary courses on China within broadly defined fields of the humanities and social sciences. Working closely with their academic mentors, Yenching Scholars create their own study paths by choosing courses from six research areas. Contact ONIF for more information.

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship- Deadline: October 31. The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is a competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines. The Fellowship covers full tuition and mandatory fees, health insurance cost up to $1,400/year, and a stipend of $3400/mth.
