Sperling Fellowship- Deadline: May 31. The Christian Science Monitor is looking for an energetic news assistant for its Washington, D.C. bureau. This person will report to bureau chief Linda Feldmann, and assist in all aspects of producing the Monitor's high-profile “Monitor Breakfast”, at which Washington newsmakers break bread with the city's top journalists. Love of politics, news savvy, initiative, and attention to detail are essential. He or she will offer general administrative support to the bureau. The ideal candidate for the one-year position should have previous experience as a news intern, or have held a significant leadership position at a college newspaper. The candidate should be a clear and confident communicator, have excellent writing skills, and be able to anticipate needs at the bureau.

KODAK Student Scholarship and Cinematography Awards- Nomination Deadline: May 18! Applicants will be judged on professional filmmaking potential, academic excellence and the overall quality of the work submitted, with particular attention to expression, interpretation and construction of the visual image. The Kodak Student Scholarship Awards is open to university or college students of film or film production at the undergraduate or graduate levels in an accredited degree.Nominations must be made by SFTV. Two filmmaking nominations and one cinematography nomination allowed per school. Contact your faculty advisor if you would like to be considered for a nomination.

NOGLSTP Out To Innovate™ Scholarships for LGBTQ STEM Students- Deadline: June. These $5,000 scholarships are intended for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) programs who are either lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or an active ally of the LGBTQ community. The scholarships are designed to promote academic excellence and increased visibility of talented LGBTQ students in STEM careers.
