The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas
"This supernatural suspense novel, set in the aftermath of the Mexican War of Independence, is about a remote house, dark secrets, and the woman pulled into their clutches. The writing style, imagery, and mystical elements are evocative of other Mexican folkloric favorites such as Like Water for Chocolate or One Hundred Years of Solitude. This story is dark, rich, and just a wonderfully gothic page-turner."--Sarah, George Reynolds

Library Stories
"I just wanted to share my appreciation for all the fabulous work staff has contributed to make One Book One Boulder, The Book of Joy such a wonderful success. I'm still 'floating' after Douglas Abrams' conversation with us about Archbishop Desmond Tutu and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. ALL the sessions, from Dancing with Toddler Joy to showings of Mission: Joy to the documentary and talk about the Nederland carousel, were so inspiring."--Satisfied One Book One Boulder participant
