Two UNO Chemistry Professors Selected for NSF CAREER Awards

Two University of New Orleans chemistry professors have been awarded CAREER grants, the most prestigious award presented by the National Science Foundation. Chemists David Podgorski and Phoebe Zito, whose expertise is in environmental chemistry, are the recipients of a 2024 Faculty Early Career Development Program award.

Dr. Nicola Anthony and Dr. Erin Cox with the biological sciences department were awarded $110,152 through Mote Marine Laboratory as part of Florida's Seagrass Restoration Technology Development Initiative.

Computer Science Funding to Study Use of AI in Treating ASD

Graduate Student Wins Coastal Protection Research Grant

University of New Orleans graduate student Lydia DiPaola is the recipient of a one-year $10,000 fellowship, which will fund her research to address high priority needs within Louisiana’s coastal environment.

AED Health Fair

On April 22nd, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) hosted a Health Fair for UNO students interested in pursuing a career in health sciences. Attendees talked with admissions faculty, staff and students from professional schools in Louisiana. Based in the Department of Biological Sciences, AED is a student organization for pre-professional health students.
