February is National Cancer Prevention Month and the MVA encourages readers to take 2-steps toward cancer prevention.
1) Adopt one new healthy habit this month. Healthier lifestyles could reduce the risk of certain cancers and improve outcomes during treatment.* Consider moving your body for 20 minutes a day by walking, stretching with a YouTube video tutorial, or simple arm or leg exercises depending on your ability. Try preparing more rainbow plates for balanced nutrition.
2) Take advantage of free screenings for colorectal, cervical and breast cancer, there may be eligibility requirements. Early detection saves lives.
