Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants Management transitions paper-based forms to Kuali |
|
|
In an effort to streamline and standardize business processes for greater efficiency, the Radford University Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants Management (SPGM) has announced that it will transition the Seed Grant application and Proposal Approval Routing form from paper to Kuali.
Effective immediately, all internal grant applications submitted through the seed grant program, as well as all external grant proposals to sponsors, must be initiated and completed in Kuali. Additional information and access to our Kuali forms are provided below.
|
- Seed grant program
Seed grants are one-year grants to fund pilot or preliminary work leading to external funding for large research/creative projects by members of the faculty and staff. Deadlines are the 15th of each month from September through April. You can access the seed grant proposal form in Kuali.
-
Obtaining internal approvals for external grant proposals
The SPGM pre-award staff can assist in the routing of the internal approval form. All required institutional signatures are needed prior to submitting a proposal to an external funding agency. SPGM asks that you plan your submissions accordingly. If your proposal application involves a limited submission restriction by the sponsor, you should reach out to SPGM immediately so staff can coordinate proposals with other interested applicants. You can access the external grant proposal summary and approval form in Kuali now.

Library instruction for Spring Semester |
|
|
The fall semester is winding down, and that means it’s time to start thinking about inviting a librarian to come to your classes this spring. Radford’s University Libraries staff provides instruction both in person and virtually. Reaching out early ensures the best availability.
If you’re at Radford University Carilion or the Roanoke Higher Education Center, e-mail Mary Catherine Santoro, clinical instruction and outreach librarian, at msantoro@radford.edu to request a session. Be sure to include information about your class, the topics to cover and the preferred format, date and time.
Faculty teaching on the main campus in Radford can use the instruction session request form to schedule a workshop by the McConnell Library instruction team. The sessions are tailored to your course’s research assignment and delivery format. Contact Alyssa Archer, head of research services, at aarcher2@radford.edu to explore the options.
University Libraries also offers self-paced D2L modules on avoiding plagiarism, APA, evaluating sources, SuperSearch search strategy, other research skills and an RUC Library orientation. Log in to D2L to access them.
