Blue & McHugh: Since 2021, Skokie Police Department Officer Kimberly Blue and Health and Human Services Department social worker Brian McHugh have responded together to individuals in crisis to defuse situations and provide support and resources to those in need.

Two New Businesses Coming to Downtown Skokie |

On Monday, the Village Board approved a $35,220 Storefront Enhancement Program (SEP) grant to support a $100,000+ buildout of Slyce of NY, which will offer a New York-inspired menu at its second location at 4849 Oakton St.

- You should know: SEP grants are provided on a reimbursement basis only after work is completed.

Also at Monday’s meeting, the Village Board approved an ordinance granting a special use permit to a new co-working office and lounge, Enclave, opening in the Highpoint building at 8014 Lincoln Ave.
|
- What's inside: The location will be home to 11 offices shared by working professionals.

The Skokie Roots for Trees campaign aims to plant 1,000 trees in Skokie, supporting the Village’s Environmental Sustainability Plan goal of increasing tree canopy coverage Village-wide. Help us reach our goal!

Two New Businesses Open at Westfield Old Orchard |

Fashion retailer Zara has opened a flagship store at Westfield Old Orchard in the redeveloped Lord & Taylor space.

- More to come: Other tenants coming to the space later this year include home furnishings brand Arhaus and high-tech mini golf experience Puttshack.

National Public Works Week |

The Skokie Farmers’ Market will kick off the 2024 season on Sunday, June 2! The first week’s activities will include live music from the Goats and the Girl band as well as children’s face painting.
