Maximize Your Funding Search: Get the Most Out of PIVOT and InfoReady |
The Research Enhancement Unit has designed a session for investigators who want to streamline and maximize their search for funding. PIVOT is a powerful database of external funding opportunities while InfoReady is GW’s internal platform for applying to OVPR intramural funding and managing limited submission opportunities. Rejected! Time to Reconsider or Revise and Resubmit? |
Join OVPR for a virtual workshop on Friday, December 12 from 11:30 am–1:30 pm, focused on navigating proposal rejection and planning your next steps. This session will help investigators unpack reviewer feedback, explore resubmission strategies, and consider new funding paths. Register to attend by Wednesday, December 10.

Intramural Funding for Scholarly and Research Projects |
OVPR offers a range of intramural funding opportunities to support research and scholarship at GW. Faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to explore the programs below to see how they can support their scholarly work. Applications are now open for funding in fiscal year 2027 (FY27):

- University Facilitating Fund (UFF)
Supports the launch of new research projects and scholarly activities that bring external recognition to the principal investigator and university and/or demonstrate significant impact within their academic field. These partnerships should aim to pursue external funding opportunities.
UFF application deadline: Tuesday, January 13, 2026
- Cross-Disciplinary Research Fund (CDRF)
Promotes collaborative research partnerships within research centers and institutes or across two or more diverse disciplines. These partnerships should aim to pursue external funding opportunities.
CDRF application deadline: Wednesday, January 14, 2026 -
Humanities Facilitating Fund (HFF)
Provides support for faculty in the humanities to generate original scholarship.
HFF application deadline: Thursday, January 15, 2026

GW Strategic Framework Aims to Grow Research |
President Granberg and Interim Provost Lach announced a new strategic framework that will guide decisions, shape priorities and inspire GW’s collective progress. Three working groups are tasked with mapping the initial path forward in key areas, including one focused on building the university’s interdisciplinary research ecosystem. This working group, co-chaired by Dean Dayna Bowen Matthew and Interim Vice President for Research Robert Miller, is charged with defining the essential characteristics and components of a thriving interdisciplinary research ecosystem and recommending strategies to promote and expand those characteristics and components across GW.

Policy Draft: Allegations of Research Misconduct |
The GW community is invited to provide feedback on the Allegations of Research Misconduct Policy Draft. The draft policy describes GW’s process for handling allegations of research misconduct in accordance with federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and ethical principles inherent to the responsible conduct of research and scholarly work. The feedback period for this policy draft will remain open until November 24.

AAAS Mass Media Fellowships |
Applications are now open to join the next cohort of AAAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows. This 10-week summer program places science, engineering and mathematics students and early-career scientists in newsrooms across the country. Fellows use their academic experience and training to write and report on today's headlines and communicate complex issues to new audiences. Applications are due by January 1, 2026.

Research!America seeks to empower early-career researchers to learn how to engage their communities in two-way dialogue about timely science and research issues. Apply for a microgrant to support your science communication and outreach efforts. Learn about Research!America civic science programs and review the program FAQs.
