| Slow Down
Icy Roads Exist
Please use extra caution when driving through RVR during winter months. When the roads are icy and snowpacked, speeding becomes an even bigger risk. A speeding vehicle on slippery roads will increase the chances of a crash so please consider your safety and the safety of those around you.

The Vail Daily Newspaper recently ran an article concerning Pedestrian Safety. Click here to view an important image that was highlighted in the article. Pedestrians are significantly less likely to survive collisions with vehicles that occur when the vehicles are traveling at faster speeds.

Streets and public bike paths throughout River Valley Ranch are maintained by the Town of Carbondale. For information about the Town of Carbondale Snow and Ice Control Guidelines, click here.
Below are the thresholds that will trigger service in the Old Town & Settlement neighborhood which are contracted with RVRMA:
- Old Town—to be plowed at 2” of accumulation
-
Settlement—1/2” of snow triggers only north facing driveways to be plowed; 3/4” triggers all driveways in Settlement to be plowed.
*Residents of the Boundary, the Twenty Four and Crystal Bluffs can contact your Board of Directors or property manager should you have any questions.
As a kind reminder, the Town of Carbondale has an ordinance restricting parking on the street for more than 72 hours. Be mindful when choosing an on street parking location for your vehicle, and be sure to park in the same direction that traffic flows. Please consider how your parking may impact your neighbors.

Keep Dogs Away From Wildlife |
Now that the golf course is officially closed for the season, responsible winter traffic is permitted. Residents should stay off greens and out of bunkers. It is also imperative that you keep your dogs leashed at all times and be sure pick up after your pet!
We have received feedback from RVR homeowners concerning dogs chasing our resident mule deer on the course. We implore homeowners to keep their pets away from the local wildlife and don’t forget — Carbondale’s leash laws apply in RVR.

Green Tip | Endangered Species |
You've probably read about the recent initiative to reintroduce gray wolves to Colorado. Gray wolves are listed as endangered under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA), and the correlation may not have been planned, but the end of last year marked the 50th anniversary of the ESA. The ESA has saved hundreds of species from extinction and continues to protect and preserve some of our most beloved animals and plants. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shared five ways we can help endangered species in honor of the golden anniversary of the ESA, including planting a pollinator garden with native plants, volunteering on public lands or with local nature organizations, making front and back yards more hospitable to wildlife, stopping the spread of invasive species, and helping to educate others about endangered and threatened species.
