Local Market Statistics Reports Published for December

Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® continues to help members communicate the latest real estate market conditions in the area with a set of Monthly Residential Market Reports for area counties and their respective school districts. Note that these monthly reports, updated on or around the 12th of the month, cover all districts in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties as well as Philadelphia. Berks County and select districts within are available too.

Code of Ethics Revisions for 2021

The 2021 Code of Ethics contains a new Standard of Practice under Article 10. Standard of Practice 10-5 states, “REALTORS® must not use harassing speech, hate speech, epithets, or slurs based on race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity. (Adopted and effective November 13, 2020)”.
Unlike most of the rest of the code, Standard of Practice 10-5 is not specifically limited to the context of real estate transactions. NAR wanted to address a dramatic increase in reports of REALTORS® engaging in various sorts of bigoted activity. NAR has begun a series of webinars to address different aspects of these changes. They are open to anyone who wishes attend. Two session have already been held. The recordings for those sessions are/will be linked to the page. 

Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® Office Closed on Monday, January 18th

In consideration of business that you may have with the Association over the next few days, please take note of the following office closing. Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® will be closed on Monday, January 18th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The office will reopen on Tuesday, January 19th at 8:00am. And remember, you can always visit the Association website at tcsr.realtor.

Glenolden Begins Implementing Sewer Lateral Inspection Ordinance

Glenolden Borough has started enforcing an ordinance that requires the inspection of sewer lateral pipes at point of sale. The ordinance also requires a sewer lateral inspection when a property changes from being owner-occupied to a rental property. The SRA and the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® are reviewing the ordinance and the recently announced procedures as they relate to the PA Municipal Code and Ordinance Compliance Act. Read the letter from the borough relating to the procedures here.
