Grassland Restoration in Dayton, TN |
Just when you might be winter-dreaming of an outdoor adventure, a happy opportunity arrives! |
SGI and Tennessee Wesleyan University are thrilled to reach this milestone in our shared grassland restoration project, and now it’s time for the sweetest part—tucking 2,000 native seedlings into their new winter beds.
The site is prepped, the holes are ready, and all we need are caring hands to help these plants settle in so they can wake up strong this spring.
What are we planting? Just to name a few:
|
- Baptisia alberans - Wild Blue Indigo
- Eryngium yuccafolium - Rattlesnake Master
- Helianthus mollis - Ashy Sunflower
- Liatris spicata - Dense Blazing Star
-
Pycnanthemum virginanum - Virginia Mountain Mint...
|
...and the list goes on!
Joining us for one day or both is welcome! If you plan to attend both days, please register for each day separately below. Your time and effort matter deeply—not only in restoring long-absent species to native grasslands, but also in helping us demonstrate the impact of this work to the supporters who make it possible.
