June is here, and we’re soaking up the sunshine! As spring winds down, there’s plenty to look forward to at NESA. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up!
A big thank you to everyone who came out to support our recent Garage Sale and Plant & Garden Sale. We raised approximately $1,000 at the Garage Sale and over $1,500 at the Plant & Garden Sale—an incredible show of community spirit!
Whether you’ve been with us for years or just joined, we’re so glad to have you as part of the NESA community. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week and an even better weekend ahead!

Fitness Centre Closure
We're excited to let you know that new treadmills are on the way! To get everything set up, the Fitness Centre will be closed on Friday, June 13, 2025, for the day while we complete the installation. Thanks for your understanding, we can't wait for you to try them out!

Northgate Temporary Closure: August 2025 During the rehabilitation work on the Northgate Lions Centre project in 2023-2024, it was discovered that EPCOR had updated the enclosure requirements for the Main Distribution Panel [MDP].
Unfortunately, the lead (order) time on the new panel was 26 weeks and therefore would not arrive until after the main project was completed.
The project will require another shut down of the Northgate Lions Recreation Centre to complete the installation of the MDP panel.
The closure is tentatively scheduled for August 5-25, 2025.
What does this mean for NESA?
Operations will continue as scheduled until the end of July. In the coming weeks we will update you with more information about where our temporary office will be located during the building closure.

Attention Classic Car Enthusiasts!We’re looking for pre-1965 cars, trucks, and motorcycles to feature in our NESA Antique Vehicle Show & Shine on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Northgate Lions Seniors Recreation Centre.

Grocery Gift Cards Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our senior's recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives at NESA.
If you are interested in purchasing a grocery gift card, please visit us during our office hours.
