We hope you’ve enjoyed the extended summer weather, all the while keeping yourself hydrated and taking some time for relaxing at a nearby lake or taking in a summer concert.

We are at the final stretch of the season, please continue to pace yourself mentally and physically until the end. Collectively as a team we’ve done extremely well this summer, from happy clients, to happy coaches, to happy leaders. All our key business indicators continue to look very healthy, and that’s largely due to the amazing jobs you’ve all done everyday.

Please take some time to be grateful for everything you've accomplished, as well as expressing gratitude for where we live and play and work. We are very proud to have led such a dynamic team this summer.

Anna Boyd has taken a new role as Year-Round Manager of Bike School, Tube Park, Mountain Host Program & Summer Activities

We’re proud to announce that Anna Boyd will be stepping into a new role as Year-Round Manager of Bike School and Tube Park, with expanded responsibilities now including the Mountain Host Program and Summer Activities.

Anna’s journey with the company is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and passion for outdoor recreation. She began her career as a Snow School Instructor (2001/02 season), quickly stepping into leadership roles including Snow School Supervisor (2004/05 season), Assistant Manager at Creekside (2007/08 season), and Blackcomb Kids Manager (from 2013–2020). Most recently, she led the Privates Program as a Manager (from 2020–2025), consistently delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Anna has also been a cornerstone of our Bike School since 2005, and has served as Bike School Manager since 2019, helping grow the program into one of the most respected in the industry. Her contributions were recognized in 2024 with the prestigious CWSAA Peak Performance Award, celebrating her excellence in leadership and innovation.

In her new role, Anna will oversee:
- Bike School: Continuing to lead and evolve our summer biking programs.
- Tube Park: Enhancing winter fun with a focus on growth, safety and guest satisfaction.
- Mountain Host Program: Supporting the team that creates welcoming and memorable guest experiences.
- Summer Activities: Expanding and enriching our year-round offerings.

Anna’s deep experience across departments, her collaborative leadership style, and her unwavering commitment to excellence make her the ideal person to lead these programs into the future. With this change, Anna will be stepping away from Snow School. We are currently in the hiring process for that role and will make an announcement closer to the season on Anna’s Snow School backfill.

On a personal note, it has been a blessing for me to work with Anna – She has taught me many things (which I will not disclose 😉) but I am proud to be a part of her successful journey through our industries. Anna will now report to Kyle Murphy, Sr. Director of Snow & Bike School, good luck Kyle 😉

Mark your calendars for the End of Season Party which will be held next Friday, the 5th of September at Blackcomb Base

Festivities will be starting with an Air Bag session from 3pm. Dinner, games and presentations will kick off at 5pm, and the party continues after 8pm at another location in the village.

Please use the link below to register your attendance, food and beverage preferences.

We ask that you please do not bring any external alcoholic beverages to the event. All food and drinks will be provided with dietary requirements catered for.

With the summer winding down, its a great opportunity to use this time to level up your coaching skills. There are a number of upcoming courses in Whistler for Kids Module, Air, Tech, Level 4 and adaptive upgrades.

PMBIA:
- Level 4 Course: 3-7 September
- Tech Course: 8-11 September
- Air Course: 9-12 September
- Kids Teaching Module: 15 September

GSMBC:
- Expert Course: 8-12 September
- Adaptive Apprentice: 20 September
- Advanced Flow Course: 22-25 September.

As we transition into Fall operations, the Bike School Emergency Line will move back to part time. The emergency line will be active on Sundays only from the 1st-28th of September.

For privates on Sundays and Fall club all coaches must report incidents to the emergency line.

For privates Monday-Saturday from the 1st of September coaches should contact the supervisor of the day to report incidents involving students.

September training schedule is live and ready for registration. With all the courses coming up, we have plenty of prep sessions happening for both the Level 2 Air as well as a level 3/4 prep session with guest coach Paul Howard. Plenty more fun sessions aimed at skill development on the schedule as well.

If you are taking a course this fall, please update the schedulers so that we can delay your lay-off date.

For those successful on courses, remember to email your new certification to WBSSPay. If you are working for September and intending on returning next year you are eligible for reimbursement this year.

Also if you have any great photos or videos for next years BSO please send them to Meesh!

With the end of summer approaching please start to clear out your things in shared spaces, bike storage and your locker.

Your access to bike storage will end on your last day of work. Please remove all bikes and other items in Blackcomb and G1 storage areas and return your keys to security.

If you have been assigned a locker for the summer please clear out your items by your last day of work.

Starting Monday the 1st of September lunches for the fall are only available on Sundays.
Club lunches must be ordered by 7am and Adults/Privates by 9.30am.
