As the 2020-2021 academic year comes to a close, we join our peers and colleagues across NYU in reflecting on this unprecedented year that we navigated together. For the Office of Sustainability, we were able to take stock of our progress and forge ahead on our goals. In case you missed it, we shared successes through an inaugural State of Sustainability address and we recently released an update to our Climate Action Plan.
We also spent time this year examining and accelerating our commitment to be pro-actively anti-racist, combat white supremacy culture, and embed anti-racism actions into our work. You can learn about how we've approached this process, which began in 2018 and is far from complete, in a recently published blog series intended to provide transparency - please reach out if you have any feedback.
Next academic year, we look forward to continuing to work with you all in making a healthier and more sustainable NYU -- so keep an eye out for new opportunities to learn and get involved!
