Building Student-Centered Activities With AI: Workshop/Study |
Do you want to improve your teaching by increasing student engagement and replacing teacher-centered lectures with student-centered learning experiences? Learn how to center students in discipline-specific, in-class, concept-building/application activities by using a new custom GPT, the “Classroom Activity Builder.” To evaluate the efficacy of this tool, attendees will participate in a study during the workshop. An informed consent form is included in the registration. Laptops are required for the workshop. Note: This workshop is for research participants only. If you’re interested in the “Classroom Activity Builder,” we plan to offer future workshops using the tool.

The Institutional Effectiveness-Teaching Connection, No. 118 |
The Institutional Effectiveness-Teaching Connection is a collaborative product of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness and the CTE, whose goal is to translate institutional data into considerations for improving teaching and learning at Miami. The latest issue (No. 118) focuses on “Closing the Assessment Loop.”
The CTE is deeply grateful to our partner Carolyn Haynes, Senior Associate Provost and Professor, for her numerous contributions to the Connection, including this, her final contribution (No. 118).

Why Should You Submit a Proposal for the Lilly Conference? |
|
|
- Interact with an enthusiastic and supportive community of teacher-scholars from Miami and across the U.S. who, like you, are passionate about student learning.
-
Receive helpful feedback and guidance on your work. Many Lilly presenters say crafting a proposal and presenting on their teaching inspired them to realize how significant their teaching results can be.
- Learn strategies that demonstrate your ability to reflect on and improve your practice.
-
Engage in a process that can lead to a publication worthy to take its place in the knowledge base of the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).

|
Lilly proposals are due June 23, 2025.
