Changes to Original Email Below Due to Business Activity and Government Suggestions

  1. Effective immediately.  The single rider rule will apply to all golfers using carts.  We were asking golfers that arrive at the course together to share carts.  Only golfers playing with family living in the same household may ride together.  We understand that some cart riders do not like to drive and hope you still can play with this new guideline.
  2. Effective Monday April 6th, the golf shop will close each evening at 5:00 pm.  This closing time will be in effect until the stay at home order is lifted or otherwise posted.
The staff, management and ownership of Carolina Lakes Golf Course hope all of our customers are healthy and doing well.  As you know, golf has remained an activity allowable under the new North Carolina stay at home order that takes effect today at 5:00 pm.  Although we are extremely happy that this might keep us open during this crisis, we feel that it is necessary to take further measures to protect our customers and staff.  These new procedures will take effect at the beginning of business on Tuesday March 31st and will remain in effect until the stay at home order is lifted.  We know some people will be upset, some are already, either through our action or inaction, but we believe every facility is different and they should set guidelines according to their situation.
Here are policies that will take effect on March 31st.
  1. Please do not come to Carolina Lakes Golf Course if you are sick, running a fever, or have been in contact with someone infected with this virus.
  2. Carolina Lakes Golf Course will be open for golf only.  We will not be selling any golf merchandise, range balls or snack bar items.  Please act accordingly and bring your snacks, water, etc.
  3. Credit / Debit Card transactions only.  No Cash.
  4. Tee Times are required, no walk-up play will be allowed.  Tee times are being restricted to 12-minute intervals.
  5. All golfers who ride will get their own cart.  Only family members living in the same household and arriving at the course together will be allowed to share a cart.
  6. Only one person will be allowed to check-in at a time.  Our staff will be either at the front door or just inside the front door.  We will have a designated place to stand while waiting for your turn to check-in.  The back door to the golf shop will remain locked.  The golf shop will remain "off-limits" during this time.
  7. All keys will be in the golf carts.  We ask that you only take a cart after checking-in.  Please do not touch keys, they will be in the "on" position.
  8. We will be doing our best to keep all the carts as clean as possible.  We are suggesting all golfers bring some kind of sanitizing wipe to take care of high touch areas before their round.
  9. All play will start on #1, with no exceptions.
  10. Groups of 4 or less.  We will not be taking tee times for groups larger than 4. We are assuming that each golfer will practice the new "social distancing" guidelines and remain at least arms length away from each other during their round.
  11. The bathrooms at the pavilion will be open.  Bathrooms at the golf shop will be closed.
  12. No gathering in the pavilion or parking lot will be permitted.
  13. Walking will be allowed at all times.  No weekend or holiday restrictions.
  14. We will continue to ask all golfers to keep the flag in the hole, do not touch the flag.
  15. All rakes are still removed and please smooth sand prints with your feet when leaving bunkers.  We are permitting golfers to smooth and place their ball before hitting shots from bunkers.
  16. No ice will be available during this time.
  17. All water coolers have been removed from the golf course, please provide your water.
  18. Upon completion of your round, we ask you to return your cart to our designated area.  There will be 2 trash cans located in that area.  Please remove your trash before leaving the cart.
We realize that these are big changes.  Our primary focus is to try and keep our customers and employees safe.  Please provide this information to friends and family who might not receive our e-mails.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.  All of us look forward to normal times.  Take care, stay safe and stay healthy!!
