Dog Days of Summer

This week's TikTok features two very special members of the Golden Flyer family: Rosie and Orion — two adorable therapy dogs in training who can be found in their offices in the YWRI and around campus. Student, staff, and faculty response to Orion's presence at Nazareth has been so positive that administration has approved Rosie, a 6-month old English springer-spaniel, to participate in a new research study along with Orion and student volunteers, starting in fall 2021.

We want to see your dogs, cats, and other furry friends and hear how they bring joy to your life! Make a video on your own TikTok account and send it to @nazarethstudents (on TikTok or Instagram).

When you submit a video, your TikTok may be featured in an upcoming newsletter. At the end of the summer, the community will vote for the best TikTok and the winner will receive A FREE PARKING PASS! No car? No worries! You’ll win a $50 Visa gift card instead.

IMPORTANT

Nazareth College is requiring all students, faculty, and staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccine prior to the fall semester. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is due no later than Saturday, July 31.

All students who plan to attend classes in the fall must manually enter the date(s) of their COVID-19 vaccination and upload the official documentation (photo of vaccination card) into their Naz student health portal under Immunizations.

You will be disenrolled and not allowed to attend classes, move into the residence halls or be on campus (without an approved exemption) if you do not submit proof of vaccination. If you are part-way through vaccination, upload the first dose information now. If you intended to seek an exemption but haven’t submitted the form, send it right away to health@naz.edu.

At Nazareth you can complete the 150 credit hour educational component required, earn a double major in accounting and finance, and gain in-demand skills in data analytics and accounting information systems. Talk to your advisor to see how this can work for you!

Become a COVID-19 vaccine ambassador

Common Ground Health is seeking volunteers who live in Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, or Yates counties to educate community members about the COVID-19 vaccine. Ambassadors will conduct outreach at community events, by phone or in-person meetings, and in some cases, will walk door-to-door to talk to neighbors.
