Note from Daan

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has participated in the faculty and staff campus climate survey. Please know your feedback is critical to help Nazareth College become a stronger, more diverse, and inclusive institution. I am also excited that Meaghan Arena, our Vice President for Enrollment and Student Experience, is officially on board with us and working to give our students the Nazareth experience for which we are known. I want to wish our students and faculty a good spring break, and well wishes to our students representing Nazareth on the alternative spring break programs.

School of Business and Leadership

The School of Management is changing its name to the School of Business and Leadership (SBL). This name change communicates the College’s move toward programs more tailored to the current business environment driven by rapid change and increased transience. It also highlights Nazareth’s developing focus on producing effective and transformational leaders. As we tailor our curriculum to reinforce key areas of focus, this name will more accurately reflect our commitment to serving the entirety of the business discipline, not just the subfield of management, as well as giving our students the skills to succeed in the greater Rochester business community and beyond.

Meaghan Arena named Vice President for Enrollment and Student Experience

Meaghan Arena is officially in her new role as the College’s vice president for enrollment and student experience. Arena comes to Nazareth with 16 years experience in higher education enrollment management and graduate and continuing education. Her office is located the Shults Center (100D) near the Porthole Lounge. Please help me welcome her to campus.

National, prestigious Fulbright awards for research or teaching abroad

Faculty can apply, and please encourage students to consider pursuing a Fulbright award to research or teach abroad after college. Students apply during junior year. Mark Madigan, mmadiga2@naz.edu, is delighted to hear from interested students and can help them apply. Continue a notable Nazareth tradition: Nazareth has frequently been among the top producers of Fulbright scholars in its category (master's colleges and universities), according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

In addition to welcoming and cheering the athletes in the opening ceremony, as well as around town, HHS students performed healthy athletes screening at the Riverside Convention Center. Nazareth looks forward to the continued Special Olympics partnership as the Golisano Training Center opens this fall.
