COVID-19 Vaccines and Clinics


The latest bivalent COVID-19 vaccine will be available at the next on-campus vaccination clinic on Oct. 5. All clinics will be held near Jazzman's Cafe in the UMKC Student Union from 9 a.m. to noon. No appointment is necessary. This free COVID-19 vaccination clinic is being held in partnership with Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center.
Free testing is also available to students Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 5050 Oak Street. To schedule an appointment, click here.

Expanding Horizons Close to Home

Elise Byers is pursuing her master's degree in curriculum and instruction. Her passion is serving English learners in the classroom and making urban-setting schools culturally sustaining. She is a recipient of the Women's Council Graduate Assistance Fund, which provided financial support for her to present her research at a conference in Athens, Greece. Elise said the hands-on learning opportunities in her program and support from her professors inspired her to pursue her graduate degree.

UMKC Pharmacy Students Getting Early Start as Immunizers

More than 180 pharmacy students from all three UMKC School of Pharmacy campuses partipated in immunization training this month. It is the first time that first-year pharmacy students participated in the training. The change will allow more students to assist in public health responses in the community, such as administering COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as other immunizations.

Connecting

Bringing Broadband Closer to Rural Missouri  

A team of UMKC students took first place in a UM System competition to design a public-private partnership plan to extend boradband internet to a five-county region in northwestern Missouri.
The team was comprised of Daniel Foose, UMKC Law; Sofia Hadley, UMKC Law; and John Welch, UMKC School of Science and Engineering.

Flu Shots: Appointments are now open to recieve your annual flu vaccination at Student Health and Wellness. The cost for students is $20.

The Center will be hosting a series of industry-specific career events and programs throughout the fall semester, along with preparation workshops to help your application stand out.

Dr. Raj Bala Agrawal Care Center: UMKC is committed to ensuring that all of our Roos have their basic needs met. The Dr. Raj Bala Agrawal Care Center is located on the first floor of the UMKC Student Union. It offers food, housing, financial and childcare assistance. You can also reach out to the Basic Needs Coordinator for assistance.
